In November 2024 Channel 5 commissioned Nicky to produce an artwork of his home town of Ellesmere Port, to feature in ‘Britain’s Most Scenic Counties’, broadcast 31st October 2025.

To celebrate this, The National Waterways Museum is hosting the Art of Travel exhibition, fresh from its successful run in Nuneaton.

The show features over 40 contemporary travel posters that evoke the golden age of travel. These artworks span projects for a diverse range of clients including: London Zoo; The National Piers Society; Chester Zoo; Cheshire Life; The Wildlife Trust; The Fylde Coast;  Chester Races, various rail companies across the UK and of course the commissioned Ellesmere Port artwork.

Nicky said:

I’m both excited and a little nervous about having an exhibition in my home town. I have created artworks for locations across the British Isles, but never the town in which I grew up. I hope people enjoy the artwork and the exhibition and get to learn a little bit more about Ellesmere Port…The Gateway to the Industrial Revolution.

Cath Logan at the National Waterways Museum said:

We are thrilled to have Nicky’s fabulous artwork on display at the museum for the first time, the Museum is a wonderful setting for his nostalgic style.
